- * Beginning of game customization options
- ** Race (eventually)
- ** Sex/Gender
- The general idea here is to support everything in the gender spectrum I can without having to hardcode them.
- - Have basic sex option in case genitals matter in someway in the future. Definitely won't matter to begin with. Early versions will only have this.
- - Allow breasts option for both sexes. Options are Flat, Small, Medium, Large. Possibly a none option? Though that may be synonymous with flat.
- - Allow all hair options (including facial hair) for both sexes.
- - Eventually NPCs will assume gender based on "real-world cues". Certain clothing/armor will make this harder for them.
- - Ability to have sex change through various magical means later in game.
- - Sexual orientation is left to be roleplayed. Character doesn't choose it explicitly.
- ** Choice of starter clothing, including gender neutral options. Male sex can wear female gendered clothing and vice versa if they wish. This is maybe just in starter equipment (allowing you to start nude if you so wish)
- ** Choice of starting equipment using a point based system.
- ** Point based system for starting attributes.
- ** Point based system for starting skills.
- * Talent system
- Tree based system with multiple paths. Can work on multiple paths simultaneously but will generally want to focus on one path, at least until immortality gained.
- Basic minion creation/control for each path will be low down in tree, so easy to get even while focusing on other paths. The edges of the paths sometimes merge.
- Limiting factor to growth will probably be the more that you learn the harder it gets rather than a hard cap. Eventually could learn everything.
- Very highest of each tree will be limited to only the correct type of being.
- Necromancer NPCs will have the same path system available to them.
- ** Path of Blood
- Vampire based path.
- - Quickest path to immortality but with all the usual vampire negatives. Early talents allow you to more easily track own Vampires,
- this will allow you to find one to turn you.
- - Can eventually offset most of the personal negatives once the path is maxed out and lots of work done.
- - Lower number of directly controlled minions than other paths, more delegation required.
- - Highly physical based personal combat.
- - Best option for a soloist or small group.
- - Vampires must be recruited via turning personally or diplomacy. Have the easiest time rebelling.
- ** Path of Bone
- Skeleton Lord(is there a more specific concept here?)/skeleton based path
- - Second fastest path to immortality. Fewer negatives than path of blood.
- ** Path of Flesh
- Lich/zombie based path
- - Second slowest path to immortality. Few personal negatives.
- ** Path of Spirit
- Wraith Lord(once again, more specific concept here?)/spirit minions based path
- - Slowest path to immortality but very few negatives.
- * Skill system
- All NPCs as well as the player have the same skills.
- These are mundane things such as reading, combat skills, etc.
- Magic schools may be under skill as well? Talents possibly only for very specific things but not general magic use?
- Learn by doing, though can gain certain level of skill through alternative methods (training, studying, etc).
- * Inventory
- "Realistic" inventory system, player will not be able to carry that much.
- - Various ways to carry large amounts with you, both magical and mundane, including dimensional rifts and minions carrying things for you.
- * Delegation
- The player will be forced to delegate management tasks to more intelligent than average minions and/or other sentients.
- This will be done by limiting amount of minions, as well as requiring the character to spend more and more time studying.
- Early on, the player will be able to find a way to control things remotely so that they do not have to move around themselves for everything.
- - Can delegate minion control
- - Can delegate defending areas
- - Can delegate resource production/gathering
- - Can delegate diplomacy
- - Basically, everything but improving self should be able to be delegated.
